Nintendo announced today that they will finally reveal the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character on Monday, June 22nd, at 10am ET (3pm UK). We are already well informed that the next character will be from the ARMS series, but we have yet to be told which character (Or characters) it may be.
Nintendo had already leaked to us a couple months back in March that an ARMS character will be the first of the new Fighter Pass Vol. 2, but we have already speculated and dreamed about who will be involved in the rest of this Fighter Pass. However, an ARMS character is a welcome addition from a criminally underrated new series from the Big N, and it is exciting to see which character is brought over and what this means for the springy-arm series moving forward.
Although Nintendo has not given any real clue as to who the character will be, speculation online has been rampant. One awesome idea that would be perfect for the time, in light of many tragedies befallen African Americans, introducing the first black character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would be spectacular.
Nintendo has also announced that the presentation will be done by none other than Masahiro Sakurai. They also mentioned that the presentation will be strictly about the new ARMS character and will not contain information or a reveal of the next fighter in Fighter Pass Vol. 2 (But we can still hope for it!).
Also considering that the new fighter is supposed to be launching this month, it is highly likely that the new ARMS character will drop immediately after Monday’s presentation. If not then, it will most likely release within the week following.
Thank you for stopping by SwitchWatch.co.uk for all of your Super Smash Bros. news! Are you looking forward to the new ARMS character, and do you have any ideas who it may be? I am going to guess that it will be multiple characters in one, similar to Bowser Jr and the Koopa kids. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments below! Happy gaming, everyone.
