Apex Legends is Coming to Switch with Cross-Play

The multiplayer phenomenon Apex Legends will be coming to the Nintendo Switch with cross-play between PS4, Xbox One, Steam, and Origin. It will be releasing to our lovely console/handheld hybrid this Fall.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale from Respawn Entertainment, the creators of Titanfall and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order.

No gameplay has been shown, but Titanfall did have a port on an equivalently powered console, the Xbox 360, so this battle royale might be able to run well on the Switch. No information on being able to cross over your save from console/PC to Switch hasn’t been announced either. We hope you can take our Apex progress on the Switch back and forth.

EA Play has also announced that multiple games will be announced throughout the year for the Nintendo Switch, including new games. We might hear about more soon! We’ll keep you updated! Fingers crossed for Mass Effect!

This is what EA had to say about Apex Legends on Switch:

“EA is doing a massive push to bring their games to make it easier for players to play with their friends, regardless of which platform they own. We’re very excited that players will be able to drop into the Arena on Steam this fall. And it gets even better. We’re huge Nintendo fans at Respawn, so we’re thrilled to announce that Apex Legends will be launching this autumn on Switch as well!”

Are you excited to play Apex Legends on Switch, like another battle royale, Fortnite? What other EA games would you like to see on our favourite console? Let us know!
