The World Ends with You: Final Remix

£19.99 50%
$24.99 50%
€24.99 50%

Kicking things off with my pick of the week it’s a game that I loved back on the Nintendo DS, the world ends with you from square Enix has been ported onto the Nintendo switch with with an extra chapter, exclusive two-player combat, and some killer, new remixed music. this action RPG game has bags of personality, set in Tokyo you have 7 days to complete a series of missions or face death, there are pins to collect which are awesome – letting you unleash all sorts of skills, there’s a real collect them all vibe that hooked me the first time around and once again on the switch! As a game originally made for 2 screens the combat has been tweaked to suit the switch, touch controls work well in handheld whilst on a tv the controller inputs are solid but not quite as good, this is the final version of this cult classic – a real treat with 50% off. Jordan, what’s your pick this week?

Blade Strangers

$9.99 75%

How you doing, everyone? Jordan here! Now, my pick for bargains this week has to be one of the offerings from Nicalis. They have a huge sale and my pick is of Blade Strangers. This is a crossover title of characters from Saizensen and Nicalis, duking it out in 1 v 1 fights. So you have Umihara Kawase beating the crap out of Curly from Cave Story. It works! It’s a decent amount of fun and I really enjoyed it in my review. It’s a very simple fighter with inputs similar to Smash so anyone can pick up and play this without feeling overwhelmed. It’s currently ONLY on sale in the US but with a massive 75% off, the lowest it has ever been. Now that’s a bargain! If you’re in Europe it might be worth picking up a $10 eShop credit to nab this one as I think it’s definitely worth that extra little stop. Links are below in the description for that.

Thanks Jordan great pick there! Juan wasn’t able to record his pick this week but he chose sea salt, this is a Dark, horror fantasy strategy game where you play as Dagon, a nightmarish force of the deep sea! You control these horrific creatures Pikmin style, the gameplay mixes this strategy with action that feels like hotline Miami. It’s a heady mix that leads to ghoulish fun. The soundtrack, style and cool card system are all accomplished making this a great pick.

Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King

£6.74 50%
€7.49 50%

Advertisements

Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King delivers on its promise in recreating a gaming classic and gives us an ode to one of the best games of all time – Zelda a link to the past. The story is a laugh and I love how it references other games in a tongue in cheek way, there’s plenty of content to and even diverging decision points in the game, the puzzles are solid and it follows a tried and tested method of dungeons, new items and big bosses with weak spots. It’s a lovely little RPG that you will no doubt enjoy if you like the old school style

Blazing Beaks

£1.79 87%
$1.99 87%
€1.99 87%

Blazing Beaks is a great little game to play with friends. Levels are randomly generated, and you can play story mode with a friend cooperatively or alone. Either way, it’s a blast. If you want to compete against friends, then there is a tournament mode too to test your skills against each other. For us, we loved how simple it was to pick up and play and get into. Blasting foes is super fun, a strong pick at a brilliant price

Graveyard Keeper

£8.99 50%
$9.99 50%
€9.99 50%

Advertisements

Graveyard Keeper is a Stardew Valley-type game, except with dead bodies. While it doesn’t quite reach the levels of that game in terms of quality, it’s still a decent enough effort and there’s quite a bit varied fun to be had, especially with it now having 50% off. It was $19.99 and now it’s up for $9.99 which for us is an excellent value. We think this one is definitely worth a punt if you’re wanting something like Stardew but with a bit of a twist.

X-Morph: Defense Complete Edition

£3.59 80%
$3.99 80%
€3.99 80%

f you love shooters and tower defense and you always wanted to be the bad guy or, at least, an alien race bent on the destruction of Earth, then why not sign-up! X-Morph: Defense does a great job of merging these genres together and is a fun strategy game. And the added extra of recreating a scene from the Independence Day movie is the cherry on this already content-filled cake.

Anodyne

£0.89 90%
$0.99 90%
€0.99 90%

At 90% off, under £1 for a game that I reviewed and gave a 7.5 to this is certainly worth a look. Harking back to 16-bit adventures, Anodyne pits you as Young against a weird world inside their own subconscious in a 2D RPG. Inspired by old-school 16-bit adventure classics, take part in a deep and wonderful journey exploring a large overworld and many quirky, challenging and fun dungeons – it doesn’t take itself too seriously with its references to the games that inspired it.

Mana Spark

£0.89 90%
$0.99 90%
€0.99 90%

Mana spark is a game that has been on sale a few times now but at 90% we simply couldn’t leave it of, for less than £1 this accomplished dungeon crawler is a steal. It had some real issues at launch but the dev sorted all of that out and what we are left with is a solid. Just one more run roguelike

Xeodrifter

£0.89 90%
$0.99 90%
€0.99 90%

Advertisements

Advertisements

Xeodrifter is another metroidvania in an already busy and crowded market but it’s a decent entry, as a space farer with a damaged inter stellar core you are stuck in a planet system and set out to explore its four planets. There’s nothing particularly new here but the weapon upgrade system is great and with a hefty 90% discount, for less than £1 you cannot go wrong.

Cyber Protocol

£0.89 90%
€0.99 90%

Advertisements

Cyber Protocol is an arcade puzzle game set in a tron like cyberpunk world. You impersonate the main hero, whose mission is to bring his Android friend back to life by activating the protocol, the story doesn’t really feature as they rarely do in puzzle game’s, that said the 100 levels of Pac-Man inspired action are fast paced and frantic, the levels quickly ramp up to being tough – there is coop for up to four on offer here along with high scores and a tougher mode for those that want to really ratchet up the difficulty. The soundtrack is a particular highlight and it’s straight out of the 80s, all in all a solid package at less than £1!

Alder’s Blood

£12.59 30%
$13.99 30%
€13.99 30%

Advertisements

We had the pleasure of reviewing alders blood and our title sums it up nicely – xcom meets darkest dungeon! Whilst the discount isn’t as deep as some of the others this is a brilliant game that’s not been out too long and certainly offers a dark and engrossing tale, solid gameplay and a brilliant style.

Cave Story+

$9.99 67%

Advertisements

Cave story was originally released back in 2004 to well-deserved rave reviews. Fast forward and it’s been highly polished and well ported onto the Switch. It’s a highly addictive action adventure metroidvania experience with a fabulous retro feel to it. It’s a must-buy at Just $9.99!

NoReload Heroes

$0.99 90%

Advertisements

Noreload heroes is a basic and easy to pick up dungeon crawling twin stick shooter, make no mistake this is peeled back and not the deepest game but at the same time it fills that gap at less than $1! If you’ve got a couple of mates coming round and you want to try something new that you don’t need to spend two hours explaining – this will do nicely!

And there you have it a bunch of eShop bargains worth picking up, a lot of low cost indie titles this week. Are you tempted by any of these bargains, or are you saving your cash for some of the new games going on sale later this week? Or maybe you’ve got your eye on some lovely physical releases from Jordan’s roundup coming up? Well the next episode comes out tomorrow if that’s your thing. I’ll be back next Sunday with more bargains, and look out for a couple of reviews in between. Take care, have a great week, and thanks for hanging out with me today!
