On January 17th, just a couple weeks away, Nintendo Switch owners will finally get their hands on a brilliant Wii U title. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is an excellent role-playing game that has the chance to find a larger audience on the Nintendo Switch.
Originally released in 2016, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE was one of those titles that was just too good for the Wii U. It is a bright and beautiful turn-based RPG loaded with character and style. This is a game filled to the brim in Japanese pop culture, and it just works wonderfully.
In other words, the game’s biggest flaw was the console it initially launched on. If you were one of the few who supported this game on the Wii U, thank you. However, it is our duty to give this game the proper attention and support it absolutely deserves! This launch on the Nintendo Switch is our chance.
About Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
If you are not familiar with the game, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE tells the story of Fortuna Entertainment.
You play as a group of teenage singers, dancers, actors, and models. You also bond the young entertainers together with Mirages! This is where powerful beings pulled from the Fire Emblem game universe come in and help. However, they lost their memories from their previous life, and Caeda, Chrom, Cain, Virion, and friends end up bonding with these teenagers and aiding them in battle against mysterious creatures planning to rule the world by stealing all of its talent.
The collaboration between Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem is a marriage in gaming we never knew we wanted. I love that it does not take itself too seriously and just embraces the bizarre nature of things. You can learn songs to save people and even return confidence to those who lost it. This is a game that does not shy away from the absurd, and that’s why I love it. This is tons of fun and a welcome treat for gamers across the board.
The Nintendo Switch Version
You will be happy to find out that Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, the Switch version, is the superior game. First of all, Atlas has promised new story content! Secondly, Encore will include loads of new songs and musical numbers. Finally, there will also be new party members to add more variety and flavor to the already bustling lineup.
Thanks to this, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is going to be a much bigger game than its little brother. For those of you who missed out on the chance to play this gem on the Wii U, now is your time! If you are one of those who did play Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, please know there is enough new content in the Switch version to justify a second purchase and playthrough.
