Poopdie: Chapter One Coming to Switch

According to an eShop listing, Bulbware will release Poopdie: Chapter One on the Nintendo Switch on June 25th, 2020. This would not be that interesting of news if it were not for those involved.

Poopdie is the brainchild of Bulbware, the creators of the wonderfully difficult Bulb Boy, and PewDiePie, one of the most popular YouTubers in history.

This will be the second game in Bulbware’s catalog, so a lot is riding on the successful of this PewDiePie-influenced adventure. The two-man team did tease that they were working hard on bringing the game to other platforms in early March.

PewDiePie does not need a whole lot of introduction in the gaming community. The self-made millionaire has earned his keep on YouTube like no one else. You may not be a fan of his work, but you must appreciate his charisma and the channel he pulled off.

And this is not the first time PewDiePie, who’s real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, has been involved with game development. In fact, his likeness has been used in multiple games including PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator, PewDiePie’s Pixelings, and most famously PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofirst.

This time around, he is involved with a young team who’s first game release was quite successful thanks to its top-notch platforming and creepy art style. Together, they are bringing us PoopDie: Chapter One, which looks to be a dung(eon) crawler in the same vein as The Binding of Isaac but not quite as polished.

The game features a lot of pooping, farting, and other toilet-related humor, and I am sure it is going to satisfy a lot of fans out there. It will cost $4.99 on the US eShop when it launches on June 25th. You can even check out the trailer for the iOS/Android version to get an idea of how the game plays.
