The Pokemon Company announced today that Pokemon Unite is coming to Switch and mobile devices as a free-to-start game. This will be a League of Legends-style team-based strategy game. The game is being developed by Tencent’s TiMi Studios, the same studio behind Call of Duty: Mobile.
This is a first for the Pokemon universe, and the fact that there will be cross-play between Switch, Android devices, and iOS devices is an exciting prospect in and of itself. The 5 vs 5 nature and the multi-directional maps make this feel a lot like a MOBA, which makes this venture all the more interesting.
Pokemon Unite gives you the option to choose from an extensive list of powerful Pokemon to use for combat or defense. Team up with family or friends soon in this epic battle game! Who will you be choosing first in this wild team-based game?
