From December 12th, Focus, a media and technology company, has been granted a license to operate the SwitchWatch website to allow Juan, James, and Jordan to focus on the YouTube channel.
All previous SwitchWatch writers have been offered to keep their current positions on the site.
Since November 8, 2019, SwitchWatch.co.uk stopped updating for a number of reasons. Juan and James were not able to keep the site at a desired standard, and with the popularity of the YouTube channel rising, equally focusing on both the videos and the site became troublesome.
However, they recognized that SwitchWatch.co.uk had built up a very loyal fan base, so we are bringing it back. SwitchWatch has a heart for high quality and being factual, which means readers can trust the site for Switch-related news. We believe that this, as well as the authority of the reviews, are important for us and you, our audience.
Meet Focus
Focus is a company which focuses on building and running sites in the gaming niche. We have a strong focus on quality and truth which suits the high standards Juan, James, and Jordan put into their videos. Our first site is the indie game-focused, coffee-themed SipReadRepeat.com.
We hope to create a newer, fresher SwitchWatch.co.uk. One that anyone and everyone can enjoy while learning about all of the things happening on the Nintendo Switch.
The Sip Read Repeat site is all about indie games. We provide previews, reviews, news, and interviews over there focused mostly around indie games and indie teams and publishers. And guess what? Most of the Sip staff already have a Switch and love it!
The writers hopping over from The Sip are myself, Chris Z, JR Sommerfeldt, H. Williams, Dana Lockhart, and Will Goad.
Alex Graves is staying on from the original SwitchWatch.co.uk team, and LJ Polintan will carry on as a proofreader.
The Focus team will provide news, reviews, and lists for SwitchWatch.co.uk. We will also create article versions of all SwitchWatchTV YouTube videos as well as dictations to allow for a reading of the video content. This opportunity is quite exciting, and we look forward to interacting with you.
In this way and the addition of a Switch-focused forum to get help with tricky sections of games, we hope the SwitchWatch website will reclaim your position as a hub for all things Nintendo Switch.
