LEGO Super Mario May Be a Real Thing

In a shocking turn of events, Nintendo of America just randomly teased a new collaboration via Twitter. It seems as if LEGO and Nintendo have come to terms to create a LEGO Super Mario game or something.

What that means for the Super Mario series is still to be seen, but this is bizarre and quite interesting. For starters, if there was ever to be a company that Nintendo could work alongside with, it would be LEGO. Also, what better way to introduce the Nintendo world in LEGO form than with the mascot that everyone loves?

A LEGO Super Mario game could be quite the interesting step for Nintendo. Since the Switch’s launch, we have seen other collaborations with different companies. Ubisoft worked alongside Nintendo for that fantastic Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Brace Yourself Games helped develop Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Feat. The Legend of Zelda. And Starlink: Battle for Atlas was in many ways a better Star Fox game than we expected.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I am excited! We are getting more and more evidence that Nintendo is growing and learning how to expand their IPs. A relationship betwen LEGO and Nintendo sounds like the perfect union, and I for one am excited at the thought of a LEGO Super Mario game.

What do you think? Do you think this is a quick cash grab by both companies? Will this possible be a match made in gaming heaven? Or is this not even a game, and instead, we may get some LEGO Super Mario toys? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
