James, Juan, and Jordan over at SwitchWatchTV put out a lovely video of some great deals on the Nintendo Switch eShop this week. Check out the video below, or continue downward to read the list of 17 Switch eShop games on sale that they recommend.

Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer
Feat. The Legend of Zelda

In Cadence of Hyrule, you get to keep to the beat as you play as Cadence, Link, or Princess Zelda. If you love everything procedurally generated, then this is for you, as each dungeon and Hyrule itself are random each time you play.

Rhythmic action adventure set in the world of Legend of Zelda series? Say no more and take my money, especially as it 30% off now. This is an absolute must. The music here is absolutely sensational and so is the gameplay. You cannot go wrong with this purchase, and this is Juan’s absolute pick of the week.

Wargroove

A game that is already fantastic value at its full price, Wargroove. This is an indie strategy game from Chucklefish that wears its Advance War love on its sleeve. It is a fantastically put together package filled to the brim with content that above and beyond what most indies would provide. If you are looking for a strategy game with tons of personality and gameplay, then Wargroove is a must have at 30% off. It is pretty much a steal. It has a great story, high production value, user-created levels, and so much more. That is Jordan’s recommendation for this week!

Celeste

We can’t praise Celeste enough. One of the best indie platformers we have played with a fantastic story and a sometimes very difficult but fair learning curve. Everything about this game screams class from the visuals, musical score, and the tight controls make this an absolute must for any platformer fan, and with 50% off right now there is no excuse not to own this. (PS This will always be a top recommendation of mine.)

Doom

Doom is discounted on the Switch. It is a game which was ported by the awesome people at Panic Button, and it runs awesome on the console. Be aware if you buy this, though, as you are going to need 32GB of storage space on a separate SD card and an additional 5GB of system memory available. This really is a huge beast to download. However, it is one of the best first person shooters on the Switch, and you can own it right now for 50% off. This surely has to be considered for a Christmas gift to yourself or a loved one.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

This game needs no introduction. All we can say is it will give you hundreds of hours worth of excellent role playing experience from a first person perspective. Winner of over 200 awards, this is an open world adventure where you can be anyone and do more or less anything you like. You can build a home or battle ancient dragons, for example. This world is wonderful to explore, and a game that is quite difficult to put down. At 50% off, we feel there is no better time to buy it on the Switch than now.

The beautiful art style of GRIS

GRIS

GRIS is a wonderful experience from the great publisher Devolver Digital. The protagonist Gris is a young girl dealing with a painful experience in her life. The beauty of the game is how her sorrow manifests through the girl’s dress which then grants her new abilities. A fantastic story where no words need to be used, as  this game has the ability to transcend its message through its wonderful visuals and musical score. This is James’ pick of the week.

Katana Zero

Katana Zero is another game which could be put up there as indie of the year. It is utterly fantastic. Stylish Neo-noir action platformer featuring some awesome action sequences where you can manipulate time by slashing and dashing to unravel your past. Everything here screams quality, and with 35% off this is too good to miss.

Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11 a great fighter and, while it has some issues on the Switch in regards to its visuals, the fluidity of the gameplay makes it still worthwhile if you want a a violent fighter on the move. I mean, whoever gets tired of these great finishing moves? Get on the couch, invite some friends over, and fight to the death in Mortal Kombat 11 for 30% off.

Octopath Traveler

Octopath Traveler is a game we have featured on past bargain videos, but we will continue to show it when it is on sale because of its quality. There is a demo available for you to try this first before laying down the cash. Eight stories await in this adventure. An excellent RPG created by Square Enix, and with 40% off this is another AAA title in the list this week that is going to be hard to pass on.

Sayonara Wild Hearts

This is a pop album video game. If you like dreamy stuff, then this is for you. Sayonara Wild Hearts features riding motorcycles, skateboarding, dance battling, sword wielding, and all sorts of other stuff while going 200mph. This one is a bit on the different side, but it is worth checking out if you have a spare $10USD to spare.

Super Mario Odyssey

It’s quite rare to see Nintendo games on sale, but here we have Mario Odyssey at 30% off. This a game all of the family can play and enjoy over Christmas. A truly wonderful 3D platformer where you explore Mushroom Kingdom with Mario’s new ally Cappy. You can even play co-op with a friend! Power up the Odyssey airship by collecting power moons and save the princess from Bowser’s wedding plans. Everything here is pure quality.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Complete Edition

The Witcher 3 has been spoken about many times as being a miracle port on the Switch. It is absolutely a superb game with tons of gameplay in this open world adventure. If you enjoy monster slaying with swords, crossbows, and some powerful magic, then this is going to grab hold of you and never let go. The complete edition includes all of the downloadable content as well. So with 30% off, if you have not grabbed this yet, then now is the time.

What Remains of Edith Finch

If you like narrative games, then What Remains of Edith Finch is for you. You need to figure out why Edith Finch is the last of her family left alive. Each story you find in the house lets you experience the story of that family member right up until their death. Certainly a very interesting game. At 40% off, it is  worth a shot now that it is cheaper.

Wolfeinstein 2: The New Colussus

Another game ported by the excellent Panic Button, this first person shooter is truly excellent on the Switch. At 50% off, this is a great bargain. As BJ Blazkowicz you get to experience an action packed story as you take on a Nazi army. This is the perfect first person shooter on the go.

Burly Men at Sea

Set in the waters of 20th century Scandinavia, this game’s story branches through a series of encounters with creatures from folklore. You can play through it once, and then again to uncover even more adventures. It is a really charming game! With it now at 70% off, get a coffee or a cup of tea and spend an evening with this. You will not be disappointed.

Hard West

Reduced from $20USD to just $2USD. Hard West is worth buying purely on price, but on top of that this is actually a very good turn-based tactical game which we really enjoyed here at SwitchWatch. It was a tad expensive at the time, but if you love western games with a twist, then check this out. Here we have western legends, demons, arcane rituals, and even satanic cults, but the combat and story is enough to get you invested into the game and its lore. $2USD is a fantastic bargain.

Coffee Crises

We are really getting some top bargains this week. Another game that is 80% off is Coffee Crises. It is worth buying for the price alone, and on top of that a quality little game to play. If you love arcade style beat em ups, then look no further as you listen to heavy metal in single and local co-op. What is not to like at this discount?

Die for Valhalla

Die for Valhalla is an action RPG where you can possess and take control of monsters and heroes to help Vikings save the realm. This can be played with up to 4 players, so it is a real nice game if you have family around this Christmas. If you like roguelikes mixed with arcade beat em ups, then this is a no-brainer at just $2.39USD with 80% off.

LEGO Worlds

Lastly, we have LEGO Worlds with a massive 75% discount. If you are into LEGO and love to build stuff, then you cannot really go wrong here. Check out SwitchWatchTV’s review if you want more information on this before purchasing.
