Doom motion controls update

By keeping an eye on the Nintendo Switch News Channel, you can keep up to date on the latest developments.

It is nothing new in the game world nowadays: creating games is becoming more and more complicated as well as time consuming.  Some of them are even multiple years in the making.  But did you actually know that the handy little news feature on your beloved Switch took nearly a year to create?

This information might surprise you, but it is indeed true. The news feature might be taken for granted, and for some other users it seems only like a little tool to fill the empty space in the main menu screen barely to be touched.  But if used regularly, you will find interesting things regarding your favorite games.  For example, the Nintendo Switch News provides many in-game bonuses for Zelda: Breath of the Wild. You also will kept up-to-date for upcoming releases and news about games being published and ones in the making.

Nintendo’s official website of Japan recently shared details of the development of the Switch’s news channel.  The author of the above stated article, Yuusuke Inoue, who also works in Engineering and Science at Nintendo, shared that even with up to 4 or 5 people, the development process took almost 12 months.  The biggest issue was to keep up with the various feedback provided by all sorts of different audiences.  Inoue and his team wanted to tailor content for players in Japan, America and Europe differently so everybody would gain the most suitable content for their region.  Since so much hard work was put into it and it is a quite handy little feature, it sure should be showered with more love.

Do you use the news channel on your Nintendo console?  If you didn’t, would you use it now after learning about all this hard work which was put into it, or do you think that this feature got way more attention than it needed?  Let us hear your opinion in the comments below!
