Valkyria Chronicles 4

Set in the same timeframe as the original Valkyria Chronicles, this tactical role-playing game is set in the German inspired fictional continent of Europa, where the second Europan War is fought between the Atlantic Federation and the Eastern Imperial Alliance. You are commander Claude Wallace, leader of Squad E, who set out to end the war and fight the Valkyria.

The long awaited 4th mainline installment in the Valkyria Chronicles series has already been out for some time on PS4 in Japan, and is now soon also to hit the Nintendo Switch this fall. A demo is available on the eShop, so you can get a taste for the art of war.

Shikhondo – Soul Eater

A Korean bullet-hell is inbound for release on the Switch in just a few days. The Switch already has its fair share of shoot-em ups, but visually and thematically none compare to the sheer vibes of asian culture presented here. So if you love bullet-hells, but none of the ones on the market already were Japanese enough for you, your prayers have been heard.

The Caligula Effect: Overdose

Set in a virtual world, created so people can escape the pain and suffering of their real lives, forced to indefinitely re-live their 3 years of high-school, our main protagonist is part of a group who realize they are in a fake reality, and seek to oppose the system.

Originally released on the PS Vita, a handheld that certainly delivered on the role playing genre, The Caligula Effect: Overdose is a remake that saw its release on PS4 in Japan earlier this year, and is slated for a worldwide release on both PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019.

Undertale

The legendary one-man indie hit that was all the rage only a couple of years ago. Undertale took the internet by storm with its memorable characters, simple art style, twisted fourth-wall breaking emotional deep plot, fantastic soundtrack, and introduced a new concept to the genre: an RPG where you don’t have to harm anyone.

Undertale first saw release on Steam, later PS4, and is now finally coming to Nintendo Switch.
