Finally, Square Enix has brought a new playable form of Octopath Traveler to us, and unlike the original demo, this one gives us access to every one of the eight charismatic protagonists! You can download it now from the eShop, and it will grant you access to the game for a total of three hours. You can’t continue beyond the starting region for each character or play into their later story chapters, but when you start the full game after purchasing it, you can continue progressing as normal.
It also appears that you can start in a new profile to restart that three hour time limit. By doing so, with eight profiles you could play with each one of the eight characters for a few hours each! Don’t take that as gospel, though. I will test it once I reach the three hour time limit tonight or tomorrow and will subsequently update this post with the confirming information.
