Shining Resonance Refrain Announced For Nintendo Switch

Sega has announced the Shining series return to the west in over a decade. Shining Resonance Refrain is a remaster of Shining Resonance, a Japan only release that came to the ps3 in 2014. Here in the west, the Shining series is best known for its Shining Force titles.

Shining Resonance Refrain is a real time action role playing game. Like some other entries in the Shining series, music is incorporated in the battle system. Your party uses weapon like instruments to buff, debuff, and attack your party and enemies on the battlefield.

On launch there will be a day one edition, called the “Draconic Launch Edition”. It features a collectible metal slipcase, with character artwork of Excella, Sonia, and Kirika. This version will cost the same as the standard edition, so you won’t have to pay extra for that fancy metal slipcase.

Shining Resonance Refrain will feature updated and remastered visuals, English and Japanese voiceovers, as well as all of the DLC from the original game. It also features a “Refrain Mode”, which unlocks the Imperial Princess Excella and Dragonslayer Jinas as party members. This mode is suggested to be done on a second playthrough though to avoid spoilers.
