It has been delayed quite a number of times, but is now finally set for release on the Nintendo Switch on August 28th 2018!
Disappointed that Shovel Knight only made it into the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an assist trophy? Fret not, because Nicalis has your back! Acclaimed for releasing such hits as The Binding of Isaac, Cave Story, and Code of Princess, just to name a few, they are soon ready with a bloodpumping classic 2D one-on-one fighting game to fill the void in your heart.
Featuring fan favorites like the aforementioned Shovel Knight, Quote and his partner Qurly from Cave Story, and Isaac from The Binding of Isaac, all of these indie heroes, and more from other developers, like Umihara Kawase from the series of the same name (although known as Yumi’s Odd Odyssey on the Nintendo 3DS), and IntiCreates‘ Azure Striker Gunvolt, now come together in ONE big brawler of blade strangers.
Developed by Studio Saizensen, the game looks much akin to another recently released 2D crossover fighting game, namely Arc System Works‘ ”BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle”, and much like that game it will feature flashy attacks and beautifully animated visuals. Trust us when we say, that Shovel Knight, Quote, and the rest of the gang, have never looked better!
We love fighting games, but we love crossover fighting games even more, so stay tuned for our upcoming review of this stranger. We are definitely excited!!
Blade Strangers will release both physically and digitally, with the digital version going for, £34.99, $44.99 on the eShop.
