Good day, everyone. Welcome to another Nindie Spotlight, where we talk about our favorite Nindies and why you should play them. I’m Chelly, and this is your Nindie Spotlight for this week – Untitled Goose Game.
Untitled Goose Game
First things first, Untitled Goose Game is hilarious. Like, really funny. How can a game with no dialogue be so funny? Easy, you control a very mischievous goose!
Yes, that’s right. Untitled Goose Game sees you take control of a fully-fledged goose. You can run, flap your giant wings, sneak around, and my personal favorite – honk. Why would you need to or want to do that, you ask? Well, you don’t need to, but it’s so much fun.
Untitled Goose Game is all about wreaking havoc as a goose. There’s no in-depth story. Just simply be a pain in the neck. You will go through a series of levels (as a goose) with a sort of shopping list of items you must steal. There’s no reason for these items. You’re just stealing them because, well, this goose is an a**hole. Scare children, steal keys, hats, and all sorts, and just generally ruin everybody’s day.
Of course, it’s not always so easy as taking these items. There will be certain ways in which you acquire the items. Let’s not forget you are still a goose, and people can scare away geese – the majority of the time. You will need to figure out how to collect items, almost like a puzzle. For example, trying to get into a shop without the shopkeeper shooing you out.
Graphics & Sounds
Untitled Goose Game‘s art style is wonderful! It’s like that of an ’80s English cartoon. It’s full of soft colors that just feels… soothing(?). It’s weird, but it’s true! The world is packed full of detail, and the goose walks and talks like a goose should.
The art-style is complimented by a soft, relaxing sound of a piano that instantly puts you at ease. It’s almost like the calm before the storm.
Untitled Goose Game is simply brilliant. Okay, it’s not very long at all, but for the few short hours you will play it will provide you with so many laughs. It’s a totally unique experience that you never knew you needed. Being a goose is fun.
