Sonic Mania Gets Physical With Sonic Mania Plus

Sonic Mania is finally getting a physical cartridge! Sega America have announced that Sonic Mania Plus will be coming to retail stores in the Summer 2018. The Tweet can be found below.

Fans of the obscure side characters may be happy to find Mighty and Ray joining as playable characters. It will be interesting to find out what Encore Mode entails, and the 4 Player Competition Mode should be a lot of fun if it is anything like Sonic 2 and 3’s multiplayer. The reversible cover looks amazing, but I am curious whether a European release will come with a Megadrive cover instead of the Genesis one. It has been confirmed that the digital additions will be coming as a free update for those who already have a copy of the game.
