Get 10 Quest Review – How High Can You Go?

Get 10 Quest is a number merged puzzle game that challenges your mind in some fun ways and gives puzzle enthusiasts that play on the Switch something simple and fun to tickle their brains and get those nodes firing in different directions. But is this one worth your hard-earned cash, or should you wait for the bargain bin? Let’s find out!

GAMEPLAY

Get 10 Quest is your standard number merging puzzle game, where you combine like numbers with each other to form a new block of the preceding number. In example; combine two 1s to create one 2; combine eight 2s to create one 3; combine three 6s to create one new 7. This is essentially the rhythm of the puzzling.

For a simple puzzle game, it is a lot of fun and quite addictive. Single rounds, even ones in Endless, can fly by like a breeze, and hitting that retry button becomes all too common and comfortable as you sit and play.

The game can actually be played two different ways. You can either move a cursor on screen around and select the the desired numbers, or you can use the touch screen in handheld mode for more convenient gameplay similar to that of a mobile device. I found that both ways control very easily, but when it comes to speedier levels or quick decision making, handheld is the preferred option.

Outside of Endless, there are 80 challenges that task you with a variety of different playstyles. The challenges are especially fun, because it keeps the standard gameplay but challenges you in different ways, like eliminating all numbers on screen but one, scoring a certain amount of points in an allotted time, and reaching a particular number (Usually a high number) within a certain amount of moves just to name a few.

There really is a lot of gameplay here, but the real meat of the game is in Endless Mode and trying to get a really high score. It is a lot of fun to pass the controller around with friends and family to see who has what it takes to combine numbers to reach 10 or higher on screen. Believe me, it is a lot harder than it sounds, but it is fun getting there.

It is only unfortunate that there is not some kind of online leaderboard. That could have really given this some more strength.

AUDIO

The audio in Get 10 Quest sounds like your standard puzzle app on iPhone. Nice little click sounds on the numbered boxes, and the tones upon clearing challenges are especially exciting to hear. The soundtrack is also a lot of fun and keeps a good rhythm and beat while you are figuring out the best combinations.

VISUALS & PERFORMANCE

Everything about Get 10 Quest is simple, minimalistic, and sleek, and it does all of this so well. Everything is as clear as day, and the colors used throughout are all eye-popping and pretty.

Because of its simplicity, the game also runs incredibly smooth. Endless Mode and the various challenges load up instantly, and you can get right into the gameplay.

VALUE

At $2.99, this is quite the bargain for a solid number merging puzzle game. For what it has to offer, you are guaranteed hours and hours of challenging gameplay for the same price as a large Slurpie at 7/11. In my opinion, that is a steal and absolutely worth your money if puzzle games are something you enjoy.
