Bayonetta 3

Bayonetta 3 is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.

Bayonetta fans rejoice!  After years of speculation and rumors, Bayonetta 3 has finally been revealed, and it will be coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.  This was a huge announcement that I doubt anyone expected to be revealed at The Game Awards this year, and Nintendo really knocked it out of the park with this one.  Hopefully we will see more information released on this tantalizing new game in the very near future.

The Bayonetta franchise was originally released on the Xbox360 and PS3 in 2009 to critical acclaim.  It did not sell to expectations, and the sequel was cancelled until Nintendo stepped in and funded the project.  Bayonetta 2 was released exclusively on the Wii U in 2014.  As is common knowledge among gamers now, the Wii U did not sell particularly well, so any sales potential of Bayonetta 2 would have been hindered by that fact.  However, it appears that Nintendo’s relationship with Platinum Games did not get damaged by this as development of the third game is officially underway.
