For those of you considering buying a second Nintendo Switch but don’t want to invest in a second dock, Nintendo of Japan has presented an option to buy a dockless Nintendo Switch unit that includes only the console, two Joy-Con and two Joy-Con straps. This will cost consumers ¥26,987 ($244/£210) as opposed to the standard set which costs ¥32,378 ($293/£252). Additionally, you can customize the Joy-Con and straps with seven different color options.
The caveat to this is you are buying the system without the dock and AC adapter. While this is clearly targeted at people who already own a Switch, not including an AC adapter seems questionable at best considering how necessary one will be for running two consoles consecutively for multiplayer. For a point of reference, an official, standalone Nintendo Switch AC adapter purchased off Nintendo’s website will run you $30 USD.
What do you think? Is the dockless Nintendo Switch a good option, or is the price unfair for what you are getting? Let us know in the comments below!
