Nintendo Shares rocket – Arena of Valor

With the Nintendo Switch going from strength to strength yesterday saw Nintendo shares shoot up to their highest point in 9 years. As well as fantastic growth, market analysts believe the Nintendo Switch is going to be released in China in 2019, representing a massive new market.

A deal was struck with Tencent Holdings Ltd regarding “Honor of Kings” – the MOBA being brought to the Nintendo Switch under the new name “Arena of Valor” which is being released later this year in other markets (not China) and the speculation is that this is the precursor to a larger deal being done.

If true Nintendo could sell many more units making it an even more attractive proposition for developers, ultimately leading to more games – in our books more success for Nintendo translates to a better experience for us Switch users!
